Sustainability at Elesi

Better products, made with greater care

Sustainability is not a separate part of how we work. It shapes the decisions we make about design, engineering, materials, packaging and the useful life of every product.

Elesi is part of The Soho Electrical Group, a British design and engineering business built on the belief that electrical products should work better, last longer and use fewer resources.

Our story

Why we started

Long before sustainability became a business objective, it was already influencing the choices we made.

Our founders began as property developers, where they regularly came across products that wasted energy, required unnecessary rewiring or were designed to be replaced rather than repaired or supported.

They believed there had to be a more practical way.

That belief led to the creation of The Soho Electrical Group, bringing together four specialist brands: Soho Lighting, Enkin, Elesi and Lieber.

Each has a distinct purpose, but all are designed to work together across lighting, electrical accessories, interiors and outdoor spaces.

How we work

Our approach

We start with a simple question.

Can this product be engineered to work better, last longer and use fewer resources?

From there, we look at how it can be made practical, reliable and easy to live with.

For Elesi, this means focusing on well-designed products that suit real homes and everyday projects. We consider how products are installed, how efficiently they operate, how long they are expected to last and how unnecessary waste can be reduced.

It is an ongoing process rather than a finished task. We are making progress, but we know there is more to do.

Considered engineering

Designing for a longer useful life

Replacing electrical products can involve more than the product itself. It can mean rewiring, redecorating and throwing away materials that still have a useful life.

That is why we focus on considered engineering, dependable components and designs that are made to remain useful beyond short-lived trends.

Where possible, products across The Soho Electrical Group are developed to work together. This can make it easier to update a space without carrying out unnecessary work or replacing more than is needed.

Across the product journey

Practical choices at every stage

Our responsibility extends beyond the finished product. We continue to review:

Materials

The materials used in our products.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing methods and supplier relationships.

Energy

Energy efficiency throughout a product's working life.

Packaging

Packaging design and the reduction of unnecessary plastic.

Waste

Waste reduction, responsible disposal and recycling.

Durability

Product durability, maintenance and repairability.

Distribution

Transport, storage and distribution processes.

Product support

The support we provide throughout a product's life.

Not every challenge has a simple solution, but we believe progress comes from asking better questions, measuring the results and being open about where improvements are still needed.

The Soho Electrical Group Impact and Responsibility Report
Transparency and accountability

Our Impact & Responsibility Report

Our first public Impact & Responsibility Report brings together the progress we can evidence today, the areas where we need to improve and the commitments that will guide our next stage of growth.

It is not a claim of perfection. It is a clear account of where we are, what we are working on and how we intend to do better.

Better decisions, made with greater care

We will continue to improve how our products are designed, engineered, manufactured, packaged and supported, while being open about the work that remains.
